Twenty Three

Happy birthday to my really cool sister who had her class call and sing Happy Birthday to me from Turkey, and who sent me Alastair Reynolds' new book!

And thanks to my family, who gave me a bunch of cool swag.

The guys in my Bible study who took me out for ice cream.

My relatives and friends who e-mailed me.

My buddy Tyson, who called me from Texas to say Happy Birthday!

My work projects for getting themselves done!

So, thanks everyone, for making my birthday pretty good.

You're great.

Incomprehensibility

It's 1:00 AM, and I can't sleep. Again.

I shouldn't have eaten after baseball practice.

Derivations from the mean, the standards are wavering, and once again the entrusting the surge and the tide to leave the incandescence alone in the softening daylight. Geometric figures and reductionism contrast into a tightening friction from the abrasion.

I should also not think I'm relevant.

Cymbolic

Only someone like me has Haste The Day, Thrice, Bleach and Sigur Ros in their playlist all at once.

I'm helping coach baseball again this summer.

I'm kinda out of the mood to blog much anymore. No need to bleed my soul out little by little to the dark internets, I suppose. Mail me if you want to know what life is.

Thread of Security

Things I Hate

Being on hold.
Being on hold with support.
Being on hold with support while listening to their E-Z listening muzak.
Being on hold with support while listening to their E-Z listening muzak with tantilizing breaks that make you think, "Someone is going to answer the phone!" And no one does.
Being on hold with support while listening to their E-Z listening muzak.
Being on hold with support.
Being on hold.

I'm telling you, Phone Support departments need to do the following things -
1) Analyze calls and keep a day or so's worth of logs so that if you call in and follow the same basic set of menu options, you get routed to the same person as before. Because if you had an issue recently, that person might be the exact person you wanted to talk to.
2) Have options so you don't have to listen to E-Z listening muzak.
3) Not leave me on hold for 15 minutes.
4) Hire more people so I don't have to be on hold.

A Priori

So, I'm on this Yahoo! groups mailing list for work. Yahoo has this advertising graphic on the website.

And all I can think is, "Do they share a passion for looking like dweebs???"

Sedition

Severence

the quick for what if I told
the = for to the whatsit that who
blofield and the cat are not to be
sugar and spice is a t-shirt slogan
regret the failings of modern youth
forceps and hammers came down
rumbling up the mountain side
a wave of hosts, fifteen hundred strong
gaining ground on the emancipator
growing in space and depth of field
pernicious and haviland
barking dogs and sleeping cats
where do they run from or at
emplace the disembodied voices
at the wire tie of galactic significance
unhand the young ones or face the sea

I am 3-0 on GPGnet now. I need better things to do with my life. Sedition.

I'm cool

I am now 2-0 on GPGnet in SupCom matches. I have moved from 11000ish in the rankings, up to 2900's somewhere. Yay me.

The second game I won because I teched up to a T2Shipyard fast, and then held his SABs off. My eco and scouting were horrendous, but naval FTW on Saltrock.

Most of you have no idea what I just said. I think that's funny.

The Clincher

X

He is risen, indeed.

Through all the days, through all the trials, all the wars, all the joys, all the blessings, all eternity. We are washed clean, He is risen, seated at the right hand of the Father, all is finished.

The death should have been us, but He did not make us pay for our iniquities.

He has defeated death, and we are His heirs.

He is risen. Christ is risen indeed.

Orchestral Vibes and Birds

It is early April. So why is it snowing? This is probably going to be bad for crops, but yet it's an overall positive thing for a region working its way through a water crisis.

Nevertheless, it's snowing. Congress should legislate no snow, April-October.

An aside, blogger's time is an hour off for me. Not DST corrected. This is odd.

Fictional Cheese

I got Chevelle's new Vena Sera album. It is pretty good.

Some days, I wish I were a man equally as comfortable in a suit and tie as one in a tattered smock and beret. Equally confident with a briefcase and with a 9. At one with nature and with the fierce avarices of technology. Happy in solitude and in the warm embrace of a crowd. For a moment, I can imagine myself as that one.

Then it all goes away.

Maybe I'll just try to be a pro baseball player next time instead.

Sold out

Basketball season is now basically over. I had hoped Ohio State would do better, but at least it was somewhat of a game.

I have lots of other thoughts and observations about other things in life, but what purpose does it serve to blog about them?

My creativity seems to be at an all time low. I think I need to exercise more.

Blah. This was the most uninspiring blog entry ever.
